The explosion of allergy across the developed world over the last 50 years remains a puzzle to medical and scientific experts. Many of the possible causes are explored in our 'causes' section, The only really accurate diagnostic tool for food allergy and intolerance is what is known as 'exclusion and challenge' – removing the allergen from your diet or environment, seeing if you get better and then re-introducing it and seeing if you get worse!
