Carbon dioxide-enriched water inhalation as treatment for allergic rhinitis – 05/11

Twenty-five patients with allergic rhinitis inhaled carbon dioxide-enriched water in a study carried out at the University of Milan, Italy. The scientists undertook to find out whether this treatment has an effect on patients with allergic rhinitis. Symptom scores for nasal obstruction, itching and sneezing were obtained before and after treatment, and tests were carried out on the collected nasal lavage. The results showed that after treatment there were significant improvements in symptoms.
