Synthetic surfactant food additives can cause intestinal barrier dysfunction – 05/11

Many emulsifiers used in food products have been found to cause increased intestinal permeability, and are exactly the same surfactants used as absorption enhancers in pharmaceuticals. Intestinal barrier dysfunction plays a key role in the causes of allergic and autoimmune diseases, meaning the consumption of food additives is contributing to the increased incidence of these diseases.
