|
i have read a book on candida and read several sites on it, and i'm a little confused by alot of things. one book says i can have maple syrup and honey and others say i can't ? i started my diet last weds so do i have to wait or is it ok to have a little on say porriage ?

Hi Lunalily,
I would stick to Xylitol powder (Zylosweet) as it doesn't get used by yeasts and is incredibly sweet. It comes under lots of names but if you google xylitol, you'll find it I'm sure. Enjoy! |

Hi all -
I have just tried something called Sweet Freedom which says that it is made just from apples, grapes and carob.It comes in a squeezy bottle which makes it look a bit like washing up liquid but is actually very convenient for squeezing into your coffee or into tablespoons for cooking. It also tastes really wholesome, without any of that cloying sweet taste that refined sugar products have. I wonder is it really any healthier - or am I just kidding myself..... |

It's best to avoid both at the start of your anti-yeast diet.
Try to stay clear of them for at least the first two weeks at least, and then slowly re-introduce them back in your diet. The longer you go with out them, the better. I hope this helps. Barbara
