Default LED computer screens

Does anyone else have a problem with their computer screen? Because I am particularly sensitive to fluorescent light and low energy light bulbs I find that even modern flat computer monitors affect me because their light source is fluorescent.
(For those who are not upon this sort of thing, because fluorescent lights - and low energy light bulbs - flicker they create little mini electromagnetic fields which can affect people who are electromagnetically sensitive.)
The answer could be an LED (light emitting diode - and don't ask me exactly what they are as I did not understand a word of the explanation) screen as it's light source if very low (very green...) and does not flicker.
I have tried one on loan (It is a Lenovo 2440X 24 inch for those who are interested) and it really does seem to work. I can get much closer to it and work for much longer at it than I could with my old screen.
Now why can't they make LED light bulbs?......

Default Re: LED computer screens

Hello all - Was just passing by and I noticed that loads of people had looked at this post so, 9 months later,I thought that I would report on the success of my LED screen. It is WONDERFUL - worth every penny of the £400 it cost me. For someone who livelihood depends on being able to sit at a computer for most of the working day, to be able to do so without any fall out (my computer lives on the other side of the room, far enough way not to affect me) is fantastic. Cannot recommend it enough.

And as for my comment about light bulbs. Well, yes you can now get LED light bulbs and I understand that they are developing fast. At the moment you can get a brilliant little desk light from Ikea for about £15 and I understand that you can buy LED bulbs which look just like small halogen bulbs from specialist manufacturers.
I was given two contacts - http://www.efficientlight.co.uk/ and http://www.megamanuk.com/. I understand that they are very expensive to buy (around £20 a bulb) but last, literally, for ever - well for more hours than any of us can count anyhow.
