Default Can Chinese medicine work for depression?

I was interested in all the posts about EFT for depression but must admit that, to date, although I have found it helpful in dealing with specific phobic issues, it has done little for general mood problems.
I have also tried acupuncture in the past without much success so was interested when someone told me they had seen a report (which I then found on the FM website at http://www.foodsmatter.com/mental_he..._medicine.html) which suggested that Chinese herbal medicine worked quite well. I thought I might try and wondered if anyone else had had any experience?
