Kara coconut milk

Just arrived on the market – a new coconut milk which will be very welcome to dairy intolerants who do not like or cannot tolerate soya or rice milks, as this coconut milk could almost be mistaken for cow's milk! Well, that is not strictly true but it certainly has none of the overwhelmingly coconutty taste which characterises all the coconut milks currently on the market. Mind you, this could be to do with the fact that coconut milk only accounts for just over 8% of the ingredients. The rest is filtered water and fruit extract concentrate.

However, the result is very pleasant, very refreshing, very innocuous – exactly what you want for your cornflakes and in your tea. And it is organic and has added calcium.

Kara is to be had for £1.29 a litre from Tesco, Whole Foods and Planet Organic.
