Sherriff's Original, Apricot and Chocolate Chip gluten-free, fairtrade flapjacks

Sherriffs are a recent arrival on the gluten-free scene offerings both fairtrade, gluten-free rice cakes and flapjacks.

The flapjacks (we have not yet tried the rice cakes) come in three flavours, the 'original, apricot with juicey chunks of dried apricot, and chocolate chip with lots of dairy-free dark chocolate chips. We particularly like the two flavoured flapjacks – something different from the normal run – especially as they were not quite a sweet as the 'original'.

All the flapjacks use fairtrade golden syrup – the traditional sweetener for flapjacks – gluten-free oats, vegetable margarine and admirably little else. They are chewy – as opposed to crunchy – as they should be, and filling – are available from Waitrose.

A box of three 35g flapjacks costs £1.99.
