Seagreens® 'The Mineral Salt

seagreens_salt

Seagreens® have brought out a new salt replacement containing 50% Cornish Crystal Salt and 50% Hebridean Organic Wrack Seaweed.

Using this as we might use salt, we decided to try it on our pasta and olive oil. The Mineral Salt is indeed salty, and has a lovely seaside flavour which most certainly added a unique and tasty edge to lunch. And the knowledge that it is not only reduced salt but full of nutrients adds to the eating pleasure!

Mineral Salt contains only Cornish Crystal salt and Wrack Seaweed, so is suitable for most allergy sufferers .

Our average daily intake is 10g of salt, and using Mineral Salt would reduce this by half and introduce 5g of seaweed into the average British daily diet. Visit the Seagreens website for more information about the health benefits of seaweed. An added bonus is that Seagreens® has a number of other health benefits. Simon Ranger, managing director of Seagreens®, says 'Seaweed has already been shown to offer significant benefits in connection with cardiovascular health, where common salt in the form of sodium chloride is contraindicated.'

Seagreens® have been harvesting North Sea seaweeds, with their comprehensive balance of nutrients, for over ten years and turning them into food supplements. The seaweed comes as an easy to swallow Food Capsule, a ready-milled Culinary Ingredient that can be added to soups, salads, pizzas, stews, even bacon and eggs, and as a Salad & Condiment seaweed, which consists of larger flakes of seaweeds.

See the full range of Seagreens® products here.

The Mineral Salt can be obtained at www.oceansofgoodness.co.uk or tel 01293-520460 costing £3.50 for 100g.
