Many hay fever sufferers have to abandon their contact lenses during the hay fever season because their eyes are too itchy and inflamed.
However, according to Cordell Adams, an ophthalmologist at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas (the second worst place to live with spring allergies in the United States), single use contact lenses minimise the exposure to allergens and irritants that can accumulate with repeated use of the same pair of lenses.
They also reduce exposure to chemical disinfectants and preservatives in some contact lens care systems which can affect the ocular surface of the eye when it is in an
allergic state.
To help allergy sufferers who would like to start wearing or continue wearing contact lenses, Acuvue is offering a free trial-pair for one day. Call 0870-608-8990 of check http://acuvue.co.uk/free_trial_lenses.htm
