Italian court rules that there was a 'causal link' between Innocente Marcolini's brain tumour and his extensive use of a mobile phone and awards 80% disablity allowance.

Sixty-year-old Italian business man, Innocente Marcolini has just been awarded a disability pension because the Appeal Court in Brescia ruled that there was a direct causal link between his use of a mobile phone for five to six hours a day over a twelve year period and the brain tumours he developed on the side of the head on which he had used the phone.

Mr Marcolini was supported by neurosurgeon Dr Guiseppe Grasso and oncologist and professor of environmental mutagenesis Angelo Levis who sees this decision as extremely important and opening the doorway to a raft of legal actions over the coming years.

The court ruling was supported by a wealth of research material. Both the ruling and the evidence are detailed in this ICEMS position paper.
