GSM mobile phone radiation suppresses brain glucose metabolism

Another study has shown that short-term mobile phone use locally suppresses brain glucose metabolism. Thirteen young, right-handed, male subjects were exposed to mobile phone radiation for 33 minutes. Temperature was also measured at the forehead, eyes, cheeks and ear canals. images acquired after exposure showed that relative cerebral metabolic rate of glucose was significantly reduced in the temporoparietal junction and anterior temporal lobe of the right hemisphere. Temperature rise also occurred on the side of the face exposed to radiation, but in small magnitude.
