Michelle's FreeFrom Pork or Lamb Kebabs with Turmeric
Gluten, wheat, corn, egg & nut free; can be dairy or soya free

Totally modern - but just as tasty.

450g / 1lb pork or lamb fillet
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
9-12 spring onions (scallions), finely chopped
50g / 2oz fresh ginger root, peeled and finely chopped
2 tsps turmeric
juice of 2 lemons
3 tbsps plain sheep, goat or soya yogurt
2 tbsps olive oil
1 teaspoon wheat/gluten-free soya sauce
salt and pepper
2 yellow peppers cut into largish squares

Cut the meat into reasonable size chunks. Mix all the ingredients except the yellow pepper in a bowl, add the meat and leave to marinate from 2-6 hours.
When ready to cook, remove the meat from the marinade and thread it onto skewers alternately with the yellow pepper. Barbecue for 5-7 minutes, basting periodically with the remains of the marinade. The lamb can be frizzled on the outside but pink within, the pork must be cooked through.
